Age Assurance & User Verification

1. Adults-only rule

UNION is exclusively for adults aged 18 or older. The app carries an 18+ store rating, and access to adult community features requires an age-assurance check.

The store rating is an additional barrier, not our only control. Age assurance is applied before adult profiles, feeds, previews or deep-linked content are shown.

2. Community access flow

2. 2UNION requests an age signal through the supported Apple or Android age API.
3. 3Only an acceptable adult result permits access to the community.
4. 4Underage, unavailable, declined or insufficient results are blocked or routed to an approved alternative verification method.
5. 5Stricter verification may apply depending on your jurisdiction, the feature you use or the assessed risk.
6. 6Face ID, device biometrics or other secure authentication may protect later access.

We do not accept a typed birthday as proof of age. If sufficient assurance is not available, access to adult features stays closed.

3. Match verification

Creating a public Match profile may require:

• Proof of adulthood.
• Government-document verification through a specialist provider.
• A selfie or liveness check.
• Confirmation that the selfie matches the verified identity.
• Moderation of the profile under our Community Guidelines.

Profiles that complete these checks display a Verified Adult badge. Badges reflect only the checks that were actually completed.

4. Fresh Verification

Fresh Verification is an optional, chat-level feature:

• A user may request a short-lived live-selfie challenge from their conversation partner.
• Soft mode lets the conversation continue while the request is open.
• Strict mode pauses messages within that conversation until the check is completed.
• Verification checks identity continuity, not personal safety.
• You may decline without losing your UNION account.
• Government ID images are never sent directly to another user.
• Verification and consent to share photos remain separate decisions.

5. Privacy and data minimization

• UNION receives only the minimum necessary result, such as adult status, verification status, a provider reference and the date.
• Verification documents and biometric or liveness data remain with the specialist provider wherever possible.
• Your legal name, full date of birth, document number and raw ID image are never displayed publicly or shown to other members.
• Verification data is not used for advertising.
• Sensitive information is encrypted and retained only as long as necessary.

6. Geographic differences

Verification methods may differ by country because age-assurance requirements are not uniform. UNION may apply stricter verification, limit particular content or block access where an adequate verification method is unavailable.

In practice this means

• Platform age signals are used in markets where they are permitted and sufficient.
• Third-party verification is used in higher-risk jurisdictions.
• Some content may be restricted in specific countries.
• Where sufficient assurance is unavailable, access fails closed.
